The Coach-Client Relationship

Each of us is capable of creating a life that stretches beyond or imagination.  This is the foundation of the coach-client relationship at Pivotal Coaching.  Trust is key.  Topics discussed during sessions are kept strictly confidential unless otherwise agreed to by the client.

What differentiates a coaching conversation from any other really good conversation is the establishment of an agreement and measures of success.  The client sets the agenda for the conversation and identifies what they hope to accomplish during the executive coaching, as well as what will change in their lives as a result.  An action plan and accountability measures are then established to support clients in achieving their established goals.

FAQs

Executive Coaching

coaching vs. councelling

The primary difference between councelling and coaching is that each focuses on a different timeframe.  Individuals often seek councelling to heal emotional trauma that took place in the past, while coaching is future focused, identifying the gap between where an individual (organization or team) wants to be versus where they are, and then setting goals to make it a reality.

Who benefits from coaching
Executive Coaching is for everyone wanting to make a positive change.  Whether you’re in the middle of a rough patch and need some support to find your way out, or whether things are already pretty fantastic, Executive Coaching will bring you to the next level.
What to look for in an executive coach

When interviewing an executive coach, ask about their training and experience, as well as whether they have received a credential from a recognized coaching authority such as the International Coach Federation (ICF), which would indicate that the individual has met certain criteria established by the governing body.  It is also important to feel ‘fit’ with your executive coach:  the success of the relationship is dependent on deep trust, which opens the door for clients to be vulnerable.  That’s where the magic happens.
